Room 512, Friday after Cool class

As much as Brooke would have rathered the whole disagreement with Michael to go the easy way, she had to admit she sort of dug this temporary no roommate thing. Mainly because it meant she could have company over, ahem.

After class, she came back to the room, making sure the scrunchie was still there on the outside of the door. Not that she thought Michael would get it if he came back, but it was sort of a universal warning.

Actually the trick had been making sure the scrunchie didn't fall off when Peter snuck out to get the two of them coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

Though the upside was that having the power to unlock doors meant not having to ask Brooke for her keys.

So when Brooke got back Peter was there with what amounted to a wee picnic set up by her bed. "Hey."

"Hey," she said, eyeing the setup. "You told me ahead of time and still managed to surprise me. Very nice."

"Just doing my part to keep things interesting," Peter said. "I don't have the stellar design skills to bust out like you do."

"I didn't know that kept things interesting," she said, toeing off her shoes before taking a seat on the floor.

"It is to me," Peter assured her. He handed over one of the sandwiches. "So how was class?"

She took the sandwich, answering, "We had to use alcohol to hit on fake people at a bar. So, about usual for that class."

"Who were you getting drunk?" Peter asked. "You or them?"

Based on what he knew about Cool class, either was an option.

"Either or," she said. "Use it to lower either their standards or yours. But getting drunk second period is one of those signs of a Problem, so I was good."

"For that you may have coffee," Peter said, handing the cup over as though he wasn't going to give it to her otherwise. "I also appreciate knowing booze isn't a requirement for you to be with me."

"You'll also notice how sober I was yesterday," she pointed out, taking the cup. "This is just confirmation."

"You know I've got to admit while I did notice it, your sobriety did not make the top ten things about you that really captured my attention yesterday," Peter replied, giving her a grin.

"Oh really?" she said, smiling. "So what did make the top ten?"

"You being in a good mood," Peter said. "Which ties in with your smile, which was also on the list."

"That's two, and a very good start..."

"There's the way you make me smile but that's more me than you so I don't think it can count," Peter said. "So for the next one I'll say your eyes."

Aww. "Does that count as one thing or two?" she teased.

"I think eyes can count as one," Peter said. "Because otherwise your hair would totally blow out the rest of the list."

She dramatically flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I can see how."

"So we'll count your hair as one," Peter said. He sipped his coffee. "There's - no, wait, we're restricting this to yesterday, so I'll have to leave what I was just thinking of off of the list."

He may have been deliberately teasing her.

And of course she fell for it. "What were you just thinking?"

"It didn't happen yesterday," Peter reminded her.

"Sob- No, sobriety happened..."

"I can't list what I was about to say as one of the top ten things I noticed about you yesterday if it didn't happen yesterday," Peter pointed out. "You're just going to have to wait for another list."

"Make it like... what number are we on? 3.5," she encouraged.

Peter opened his mouth as though to answer, then shook his head. "Nope. Totally different list. Which means number four: how you think."
