Room 512, Friday after Cool class

As much as Brooke would have rathered the whole disagreement with Michael to go the easy way, she had to admit she sort of dug this temporary no roommate thing. Mainly because it meant she could have company over, ahem.

After class, she came back to the room, making sure the scrunchie was still there on the outside of the door. Not that she thought Michael would get it if he came back, but it was sort of a universal warning.

"That's two, and a very good start..."

"There's the way you make me smile but that's more me than you so I don't think it can count," Peter said. "So for the next one I'll say your eyes."

Aww. "Does that count as one thing or two?" she teased.

"I think eyes can count as one," Peter said. "Because otherwise your hair would totally blow out the rest of the list."

She dramatically flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I can see how."

"So we'll count your hair as one," Peter said. He sipped his coffee. "There's - no, wait, we're restricting this to yesterday, so I'll have to leave what I was just thinking of off of the list."

He may have been deliberately teasing her.

And of course she fell for it. "What were you just thinking?"

"It didn't happen yesterday," Peter reminded her.

"Sob- No, sobriety happened..."

"I can't list what I was about to say as one of the top ten things I noticed about you yesterday if it didn't happen yesterday," Peter pointed out. "You're just going to have to wait for another list."

"Make it like... what number are we on? 3.5," she encouraged.

Peter opened his mouth as though to answer, then shook his head. "Nope. Totally different list. Which means number four: how you think."

"I really like that one," she admitted.

"Me too," Peter said. He moved to rest one arm around her, if she didn't mind. "This list isn't in order of importance by the way. But how you think would be at the top."

She didn't mind at all, even leaning against him a little. "So it's the real number one. I like it more now."

Peter didn't mind the lean. He leaned back, so they could both be comfortable. "I really do like how you think. You're fun, and creative."

"You're flattering," she smiled.

"We're talking about you now."

"Okay, I'm listening," she said with a nod.

"Thank you," Peter said, as though Brooke had redeemed herself for trying to change the subject. "In which case your hands go on the list."

She held out one hand in front ofher to look at it. "Good call."

"You can tell they're skilled, but still beautiful," Peter said. "I like that."

"I moisturize," she said helpfully, dropping her hand down.

"The effort shows."

"We're halfway there," she said encouragingly.
