Room 221, Saturday early afternoon

The single room was definitely a surprise, but Brooke was making the most of it, and trying to rearrange all her stuff in a new setting. She was going to be able to give her mannequin its own actual space now, which was nice.

And she had no idea where the tortoises came from. At least they were sorta cute? Sorta?

"Knock knock," he said, since the door was open and therefore knocking on it was silly.

Somewhere from the corner where Brooke was trying to set up her fabric and supplies, she looked over and grinned. "Welcome to my new abode!"

"Looks good," Peter said. "Is this the new Brooke Davis studios? Am I seeing glimpses of your Spring Collection?"

"Just call it my home office," she said with a smile, standing up straight. "The school office loves me!"

"Maybe they're hoping to get an early in on your sample sales," Peter replied.

"Or they just love to spoil me," Brooke said. "Though they could have sent flowers, too."

"Maybe they wanted you to have a new room so that the flowers could be a housewarming gift," Peter said.

"Now I expect flowers," she said, looking towards his hands.

"Don't have that ability yet," Peter said with a grin. "Sorry. Any way I can make it up to you?"

"You really have to ask at this point?"

Peter snickered. "Probably not, but I didn't know if you were really focused on your fashion at the moment."

"I'm just setting up. Rearranging. Boring things," she nodded.

"Can I help?" Peter asked. "I'd ask if you needed a hand but even I know that's feeding you a straight line."

"You know me so well," Brooke laughed. "The hard part's done, it's just deciding where I want everything. I didn't think I still had so much stuff."

"Moving always seems to do that," Peter said. "Imagine what it's going to be like when we get to the cabins."

"Yeah," she said slowly. "I'm trying not to think too hard about roughing it."

"It's not too bad," Peter said. "I bunked down with some nice folks last year, including the girl who kinda looks like you."

"Ew, not my wannabe," she frowned.

"She wasn't bad," Peter said. Then, because he wasn't stupid, he added, "You're better."

"Good clarification there," she said with a raised eyebrow.

"I like to think I know what side my bread is buttered on," Peter replied.

"Would you believe that's the first time I've ever heard that?" she asked, which was her trying to hide the fact that she wasn't sure what it meant.

"Means I know who I should be nice to," Peter said. "Like folks who give you a new room in the hopes of getting dibs on your latest designs."
