Room 221, Wednesday all day

If she'd stayed in Tree Hill, Brooke would have ended up doing a hell of a lot more moving than she ever did in Fandom. Maybe that was why it was so weird to see everything taken down and packed away and sent off now. Everything was down from the walls, the mannequin and all her supplies gone. It was just Brooke and her suitcase, which she kept going back into to make sure she had this or that before calming down again and sitting on her bed and looking around, at least till the next time she had to get up and check that she didn't forget something. The calls she made to tell people she was going today were less about telling them than it was to chill her out for the ten seconds she was leaving the message.

This part sucked and she kind of wished she could skip it. Though there were people she'd hit if she didn't say goodbye to them, so forget skipping anything.

Sometime during the day, Hannibal stopped by Brooke's room. "That time, huh?"

"Yeah," she said, standing. "Toby'll be so disappointed in me for not tapping all the newbie ass this time around."

"Are there no good men at home?" he wondered. "Or have you been there, done that?"

"Pretty much," she said, not able to be offended because... well... "I just had instructions left for me. And Tony Stark never called me, that bastard."

Savannah wasn't going to miss saying goodbye to Brooke, so as soon as she got back from her field trip she was knocking lightly on the door.

"Hey, Savannah," said Brooke, waving her in.

Savannah came in and gave her a smile, as well as a necklace she had bought on the field trip.

"I'm not so fond of this part, you know."

"I am, there are presents involved," Brooke laughed. "Thank you, you didn't have to do this."

She grinned. "I know, but I wanted to. Have to make sure you have something nice to remember us by, you know."

On his way back to his room, Griff stuck his head in the doorway. "You're not leaving Fandom, are you?"

"Afraid so," she said, straightening up from her four hundredth check of her bag. "I head out tonight."

He'd only just got there and the people he'd liked were all leaving. Griff was not enjoying this part. "Well, do you come back in the fall?" Psh, as if graduation meant something.

"Nope. Still North Carolina by fall. Well, we'll see about that part," she said. "Graduation's fun like that."

"North Carolina," he tried those words on for size. "You don't exactly strike me as the farmer girl type."

Nope, no clue what North Carolina was like at all, this one.

"You know, if you leave things behind, you'll have a reason to come back," Jess said helpfully from where he was leaning against the doorframe.

"Is that so?" Brooke asked. "I could have my own reasons to come back..."

"I guess you could," Jess said solemnly, before smirking and coming in. "You need any help?"

"I'm pretty much packed up," she said. "It's mostly biding my time until I'm ready to leave. I don't know if the 'ready' part actually happens, or if that's some kind of myth, like unicorns, or Bigfoot."

"I don't know if the ready part will happen either, but you can handle it," Jess said. "I doubt I'll be ready a few weeks from now, but we don't really get a choice."

Peyton stopped in once she'd gotten back from Arrakis. "Hey, B. Davis! So I just got back from - whoah... are you leaving today?"

Brooke paused. "You don't have a new radio yet, do you?"

Peyton shook her head. "Much less stressful that way. I'm having a hard enough time dealing as it is."

"Not the thing someone wants to hear right before they leave town," Brooke said. "This is the time for 'everything is good, Brooke!' and 'We'll miss you but that's okay because everything is happy and don't feel bad for leaving, Brooke!'"
