Room 221, Sunday evening
Having woefully neglected her mail the last couple days, Brooke went down to get hers and sort of wished she hadn't. Getting the letter from Lucas saying he wasn't coming back had been bad enough. Knowing it was because of the school shooting and what had happened to Keith was worse. At least tomorrow there were Ewoks? And maybe she could kidnap a fuzzy little baby to carry around and shove attention onto?
And to make things worse was the call she got while moping.
When she saw who it was, she was almost afraid to answer. "If this is to tell me bad news, I really can't handle it in this reality, too," Brooke greeted.
Peyton paused. "Well, I guess I should hang up then. Nice talking to you."
Her voice didn't sound the kind of weird that you'd expect out of something like Our school got shot up here, too, so Brooke sat up. "Wait, no. What's the bad news?"
"Umm. You remember the time capsule?"
"Yeah," Brooke said slowly, feeling more at ease. This was a normal kind of bad news, apparently. This she could handle.
"It got leaked."
"Aaaaaaaand..."
"I mean, everyone's interviews got put out there, right out into the public."
Brooke shook her head. "Which sucks, but... Why do I care?"
"Brooke," Peyton said, "do you remember what you did in your time capsule interview?"
"What, I talked, and-" And then it came to her. It was a stunningly horrifying realization, too. "Oh my god. Oh my god."
"Yeah. It gets worse."
"How the hell does it get worse?" Brooke demanded.
"Are you by your computer?"
Oh, that couldn't be good. Brooke got up from her bed to open up her laptop with amazing speed, terrified of why she needed to be here. "Now I am."
"I'm sending you a link."
A moment later, the "OH MY GOD" that was probably heard down the hall was not the sort that you'd normally expect coming out of Brooke Davis' room.
"I mean, it could be worse," Peyton said sympathetically. "You're number 23 on Limewire."
Okay, at least tomorrow there would be Ewoks, and the hope that she could escape before anyone saw that.
